People have to work two to three jobs sometimes most their lives to earn a living that is adequate enough to spend for the present and to set aside for their golden years during retirement. In recent years, people are having a harder time setting aside for retirement. Are you having this difficulty too?

For most of these people, retirement is the time when they can do the things they never had the time nor the opportunity. These are probably going on a tour, play a favorite sport or other things that interest the person.

Today, after so many years of work, people are still deferring retirement opting to go back to work just so that they can meet rising cost of living and adding more funds to their retirement fund.

There are other means to build on one's retirement fund without actually doing the work. There are a number of options that one can consider from that would provide income. You might want to check them out.

For instance, with the knowledge and skills you have gathered through the years of work, you may offer your services as an adviser to projects and get paid for it.

This can also be done in the internet using blogs to advertise your work. Once you have gained a substantial amount of readers or patrons, you could offer companies to post advertisements on their products and services on your blog.

Finally, you can set up your own multi-level marketing business. With this kind of business, you can schedule the business hours to fit your schedule. You can also get your spouse involved as a partner in the endeavor.

In this time of uncertainty, having more options to generating more cash flows will assure a better life today and secure the fun during retirement.

Caring For Babies

Parenting is a tough task that every one of us is obliged to do. When you get your bundle of joy, you have to spend more time for the little person and you need to do your household chores too simultaneously. Caring for babies is an everyday process in which you and your partner should be engaged. It is not fair to let the mother alone take care of the baby. Many parts of your house need to be prepared before the arrival of a baby. Depending on the age of the baby, you have to take safety measures too.

Nutrition is very important for your baby and you have to breastfeed the baby for at least six months. Mother's milk has all essential nutrients to keep your baby healthy. You don't even have to feed the baby with water when you breastfeed. There are no specific time frames for feeding your baby. Whenever your baby feels hungry, you have to feed. Approximately, you may need to feed the baby once in 2 hours.

The new born baby will have weak neck muscles and hence you should always have your hands supporting the neck of the baby. Not everyone should be allowed to lift the baby. Caring for babies is very important as the baby can easily catch infections from others. The baby clothes must be washed with hot water and it is essential that you rinse them with antiseptics to prevent all types of infections. Diapers are very important for babies and when you don't wash them properly you are risking the health of your newborn. When you don't use clean diapers, your baby will start developing rashes. Rashes may also appear when the diaper is too rough.

Your baby's skin will be very soft and you should not use harsh soaps and lotions for your baby. Bathing of the baby should be avoided until the navel has healed. Till then, you can give sponge bath for your baby. Then you can use plastic tubs for bathing the baby but you should always support the neck of the baby, while giving a bath or otherwise. Mild soaps can be used, but take care that water does not reach his or her ears.

Your baby will sleep for hours together and there is nothing wrong in it. The sleeping pattern of the baby will disturb your sleep and many inexperienced moms find this part of caring for their babies very difficult. Let your baby sleep on the back and don't wake your baby unnecessarily. You can play mild music and talk to your baby when he or she is awake.

Above all, you should take care of yourself because only if you are healthy, you can take proper care of your baby, especially, if you are breast-feeding, you have to eat healthy food that are highly nutritious in their value.

How to Buy Sugar Gliders

Sugar gliders are amazing pets and friends and having one as a pet and friend is truly an amazing experience. And thanks to their natural charisma sugar gliders are becoming more and more popular around the US.

Even though it's a real pleasure to have one as a pet, I would strongly suggest you checking out if sugar gliders are legal pets in your state. The thing is that sugar gliders are exotic pets and some state laws might claim them illegal. So just to be safe than sorry, check the US Department Of Agriculture laws to find out if it's okay to own one in your state.

If you find out that it's okay to own sugar glider in your state, then try and find as much information as you can about sugar glider care. Even though sugar gliders are small and are pretty healthy animals they still require a lot of time to feel loved and happy. So just before you buy a sugar glider, find out EVERYTHING you can about your new pet and how to take care of it.

Now, the next thing is that you must know is that they might live up to 15 years. Even though it's a strange thing to say, I want you to understand that this is not a short-term commitment. You will have to spend at least 2 hours of quality time every day with your pet for your sugar glider to feel loved and be healthy. So think this over again and commit to that.

When it comes to buying one, even though they might be hard to find, buy only from licensed breeders. Finding one will take some time and the best place to start from is International Sugar Gliders Association.

After you've found a breeder near you and they have some in stock - visit them. See the conditions that they are living in. If they are keeping their sugar gliders in aquariums it might mean that breeders are not too concerned with their sugar gliders' health and buying one from them might be a pretty risky thing to do.

Also, ask what are they feeding their sugar gliders with. If pellets are the only thing that they feed them - it's not a good sign. Sugar gliders need much more minerals and elements that can be found in pellets.

Now if everything is fine, start choosing your new pet. Try to choose pet that is at least of 8 weeks old.

When you've found one that would like to take home, don't forget to ask breeder for their contact information, so that you can contact them if something goes wrong or just have simple sugar glider care question.

Betta Fish Vases-Are They Really Safe

Betta fish vases are one of the hottest fads in years. A Betta fish (also called a Siamese fighting fish) is kept in a vase along with a Peace Lily.

I admit they do look lovely. But are Betta fish vases safe for the fish who live in them?

I'm not an expert on Betta fish care, but I've spoken to people who are and they all told me the same thing. Betta fish vases are Not safe!

First, Betta's need room to move around so they don't tear their fins or scales. But a vase severely limits their movements. Also, Betta's thrive in water that is kept at 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Any colder than that and the fish will become lethargic and may stop eating. It's just not practical to regulate the temperature of a Betta fish vase.

Another concern is oxygen. While Betta fish do breath oxygen from fresh water, they also have a specialized respiratory gland that allows them to breath directly from the atmosphere. But in order to do so they need access to the surface. Vases are small and cramped, especially with a lily sticking out of it. If the Betta fish can't reach the surface, it may suffocate.

In other words, putting a Betta fish in a vase is like locking a dog in a cold, cramped shed in which it can barely move or even breath. The fish will be miserable and you can expect it's life span to be shortened significantly.

My advice is to steer clear of Betta fish vases and instead keep your fish friend in a nice roomy tank with clean, warm water.

How to Choose a Sugar Glider Cage

If you're going to own a sugar glider, then you will certainly need a cage for it. There are a few things you need to consider before picking out your first one. This article will give you a few tips on how to choose a sugar glider cage.

Height

One of the first things you need to consider when choosing a cage is its height. Sugar gliders love to jump and climb around. Therefore, you need to make sure the cage has plenty of vertical space. Vertical space is more important than the amount of horizontal space. It's best that the cage is at least three feet tall.

Bars

You also need to consider the cage's bars. It's important that the bars are spaced no more than 1/2 inch to 1 inch apart. Wire mesh bars are best as they allow the glider to climb on them easily. If the cage you choose isn't wire mesh, then at least make sure it provides horizontal bars or platforms so the glider can use them to climb.

Material

A sugar glider cage can be made from various materials. If you're thinking about getting a cage with bare wire, you should know that it may irritate your pet's feet. Therefore, get a wire cage that's powder-coated or made from vinyl. They won't hurt your glider's feet and they'll also be easier for you to clean. It's best to avoid cages made from plexi-glass as your glider will scratch it up easily. Also, he won't be able to climb it, so you'll need to provide him with platforms or branches.

Security

Did you know that sugar gliders are pretty smart? Well, they are! You may be surprised one day to find that he has learned how to open his cage and let himself out. Try to find a cage that has a very secure latch that he can't learn to open easily.

Pet Land Hermit Crabs As a Pet

The pet land hermit crab is one of the most adored pets in many households. Although you may not be able to cuddle up with it like your dog or cat or go for a walk together, you will have years of pleasant enjoyment. This crab is a wonderful choice for homes with allergies as they are odor less and virtually disease free. Hermit crabs do prefer to be in pairs however, and you just may consider purchasing a pair of these exotic creatures which will greatly reduce the stress on a single hermit crab.

Because of its unique shell appearance, the pet land hermit crab is genuinely interesting. Because it has no shell and a soft abdomen which is exposed, this crab must borrow a empty shell from a fellow snail or sea creature, which it carries on its back and holds on by its hind legs.

These exotic animals are truly a wonderful pet. It does have needs, however. While you may think that much interaction is not needed it is important to interact with these creatures daily. You will see a noticeable difference in your pet as it will likely be stress free.

This crab diet is fairly easy. You will need to purchase a commercial hermit crab pellet food from your local pet store which you will be required to feed him every day and you will also need to feed him fresh foods, such as frozen shrimp, fresh raw vegetables, fruits and grains. The healthier the diet the healthier your pet crab will be.

This crab is intelligent and aware of its surroundings. Therefore, it is not only necessary to have an optimal diet but a large enough headquarters for these crabs to live in. The aquarium should be at least a ten gallon for a single hermit crab and a 30 to 40 gallon for multiple crabs. Two of these crabs really need a companion however, and you should do everything to ensure that you have two hermit crabs.

As these crabs molt, they grow. This is a time that is extremely strenuous for the exotic animals and death or the loss of a limb can occur. Therefore, it is very important to ensure that you are caring for your pet crab in the best way. This includes a diet with extra calcium especially important during molting, the right environment, interaction and plenty of fresh and salt water. To ensure that your pet crab has plenty of calcium add a cuttlebone (found in the bird section of your pet store or grocery store) and add it to its cage or purchase a calcium supplement that can be found at your pet store.

Shells will also have to be offered to your exotic pet as they grow, so have a variety on hand. You can find a variety through the net, at the sea shore, or through your pet store.

With proper care of your pet crabs you will have many years of enjoyment.

Giving Your Ferret a Home

It isn't every day that you get to adopt a new family member. Some of you may have waited a long time to bring home your new family member right? But have you prepared a room for them? Before bringing your ferret home, making sure that he has the appropriate home for him.

What does it mean? It is not just buying your ferret a cage but preparing your home for your new family member. Ferret proofing your home is very important since these creatures loves to climb, chew anything that attracts them. Breakable items, cracks, small holes, cabinets and drawers should be sealed. Locked or closed to ensure your pets safety.

Ferrets are lovable animals that need to be out of their cages once or twice a day to interact with its owners. Giving them the proper home would make them feel safe and comfortable. Another thing that you have to take note is that you have to remember is that ferrets are very delicate animals and that they would easily get hurt. Finding the right cage for them is essential.

To give you an idea on how to buy a ferret cage that is safe for them, here are tips on how to buy one.

1. A specified cage is required to ensure the safety of your ferret. If your ferret's head can go through its spaces, then it is not a ferret specified cage. Why? Because once its head can get through, so is its body.

2. Cages with wire flooring is not advisable since ferrets feet is very delicate and could easily get hurt.

3. Some ferret owners use aquariums as ferret cages, this I don't advise. Aquariums are only used for fishes and not ferrets. It does not offer enough air circulation and space for them to play.

4. A multi-level ferret cage is essential. Ferrets love to play and giving them this type of cages give them the room to run around during play. Having a big door would also reduce the risk of your ferret getting hurt once he is entering the cage or leaving.

Aside from buying a cage for your ferret, it is also important that you should buy them sleep sacks and hammocks. Hammocks give them enough comfort during sleep since it molds their bodies to its sleeping position. Sleep sacks are also important during the cold winter's night. But all these are not only used for sleeping, but also during their plays.

As a welcome gift for your ferret, give them toys. But do not give those plastic toys or foam. A ferret proof toy is advisable. They tend to chew on their toys and might get something out of it and it is very hazardous to them. This could also cause obstruction in their intestines and could only be removed surgically.

These are just few of the basic needs of a ferret. Treating them right and giving them the proper attention and needs would help your new family member to live a happy and healthy life.

Hammock - Should You Or Shouldn't You?

A ferret is big on snooze fests. Full grown ferrets spend an average of 18 to 20 hours each day asleep. These mammals also enjoy hiding under dark cushiony places. Given this ferrets must have comfy areas for playing hide and seek and sleeping in. When sleeping in a cold room people use heavy blankets and switch to lighter ones when it gets hot because this aids in body temperature regulation. It is the same for a ferret. There should therefore be two kinds of coverlets available to ferrets inside their enclosure. This gives them options on where to sleep and have the most comfort. Ferrets need beds to develop normal sleep habits. Any discomfort felt while sleeping disrupts their sleep and affects their survival.

Nap or sleep sacks are one bed option but do provide additional warmth if the situation calls for it. A nap sack is positioned on the cage floor. Some sacks are open at both ends so it is easy for ferrets to snuggle under them. Warmth immediately envelops ferrets once they get inside their nap sacks. A number of the sacks sort of crumple which makes them great for playing.

Hammocks are the number two choice. They are hung and secured on the walls leaving the space at the bottom free. Since ferrets are not big on heat exposure the hammocks give them enough open space to keep cool. Different varieties of fleece hammocks are available from the lined to the unlined ones. Larger hammocks hold several ferrets at a time which is perfect because these animals love to cuddle. The hammock can zip up in front for easy opening size adjustment or be flat or in the form of a boot. It gives ferrets more room to move. A ferret hammock likewise helps keep ferrets safe as it can use it as a stepping off point to reach higher areas and avoid falling down hard.

Avoid spreading disease by ensuring the nap sack or hammock you bought can be cleaned using a washing machine. Go for securely made net like fabrics as these are safer and last longer. When sleep sacks or hammocks start to frazzle take them out of the cage and get rid of them. Damaged hammocks and sacks pose dangers to the cage occupants.

When buying a hammock check that all the hardware that come with the purchase are pet friendly. For hammocks that exclude additional setup hardware be sure whatever hardware you do use is harmless to your pet.

Ferret hammocks are a smart sleep bed choice as they afford better sleeping position for the ferret and a safer slumber site while giving them more room to have fun.

Sugar Gliders - The Dangers of the Wrong Diet

Do you know if the food you feed your pet is the right type for its body. Taking care and knowing your Sugar Gliders diet is very important. There are however, certain types of food you should never feed to a Glider or food you would keep to small amounts.

Foods To avoid

Sugar Gliders are omnivores and anything you would put in-front of them they will gladly eat, especially is it is sweet. Remember too, Gliders are tiny so a little bit of food is a lot to them. Anything fed in excess to any pet will be harmful.

- Avoid dairy products like Ice-cream and cheeses etc. Gliders are lactose intolerance but can tolerate a little. Giving a little flavored yogurt now and again is fine because the lactose in yogurt can be easily broken down because of the bacteria it contains.

Giving babies a little yogurt on a daily basis is beneficial due to the bacteria and calcium it contains(calcium, very important for their bones.)

- Gliders have a very sweet tooth but you should avoid regularly feeding them anything sweet and fatty, as they will quickly put on weight and become plump, which is not good for any pet. Avoid small pieces of chocolate too as the lumps of chocolate can be fatal.

- Any fruit or veg that is normally treated with pesticides are classified as a high risk food, are hard to clean thoroughly and should be avoided. Some berries (raspberries, blackberries etc.) and veg like broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower etc. may be full of pesticide and extremely harmful to a very small stomach.

- Gliders love seeds and nuts but these can be high in fat and low in nutritional value so should be given as a treat. Eating to much seeds and nuts will result in your pet getting fat, which can also result in fat deposits building up in their eyes and causing blindness. Some pet stores recommend bird seeds as a food for your glider but do not do this, find the right balanced diet for your pets needs.

- Glider smell. Does your Glider smell? These pets can be known to smell, yet this is again all down to the diet. Overfeeding, giving people food instead of glider food and an overfeeding of vitamins all contribute to the smell from your pet, especially the urine. Find the right balanced diet and your pet should smell like a bed of roses.

These are just a few types of foods and situations that could be affecting the health and well been of your pet. Find the right balanced diet, very important, do the research and keep your Sugar Glider fit and healthy. Create for yourself a diet plan and mix it up on a regular basis so your pet can enjoy it better.

Setting Up a Nursery at Home

Are you a mom-to-be who is setting up a nursery? Why not look online to help you shop for your baby's bedding and doctor? There are so many themes out there, you can find hundreds if not thousands of them online.

Instead of going to a store and being limited to what stock they can physically house, you can shop the world of baby bedding online. Literally, you can see more stock than would ever be possible for one store to contain. No store can have all designs and brands.

Online sites will have a huge selection to choose from. It can be tricky to narrow it down though, especially if you don't know what would be best for your needs. It's even harder to pick from a huge pool of possibilities than from a small pool, especially if there isn't much on the site to help you decide.

Bedding manufacturers are creating crib bedding collections more and more, with new collections being added seemingly daily. It is flooding the market. Plus there are so many accessories to match, you can be overwhelmed. Take full advantage of the widespread availability of things to choose from on the web. Not only will you have a great selection to view from the comfort of your home, but you'll find that prices are typically more competitive than they are in retail outlets.

Go online to buy a baby quilt and sheets, and you'll find you can also pick up the matching light switch cover, lamp, lampshade, mobile, music box, diaper stacker, curtains, rug, pillows, and so on. It's really amazing how integrated you can make a baby's room with a single theme, now that manufacturers are offering matching items. If you aren't sure if you are having a boy or girl, pick something that is in a neutral color scheme.

There are plenty of designers in the baby bedding market these days. You are sure to be able to find attractive, reasonably priced, high quality pieces that will make you happy if you look.

Some consumers want to buy retail directly from a store instead. Try a bedding retailer. Check to see if they offer crib bedding or have a children's section. You can also try in a baby store, in the linens and furniture section. You'll find something in your budget that is very cute.

Try the mall too. You never know what you may come across at the mall, and if one store doesn't work out there are plenty of others.

Sugar Gliders - Some Don'ts You Need to Know

There is a lot of misleading information on the internet about the proper care for sugar gliders, most of this information is not really accurate and some of the diets that you are supposed to give to your your exotic pet are way too complicated and too expensive.

A lot of people are killing their sugar gliders due to lack of knowledge or following bad advice to take care for them. These little animals are really not hard to take care of, but their do required the proper environment, temperature, diet and hygiene.

I have seen some gliders owners losing their animals because of lack of common sense as well, such as leaving toilet bowls open or any other standing water that may be found in a house. Sugar gliders cannot swim and will drown in any container with standing water big enough for their very tiny body to fall in. It includes just about anything as little as a cup of tea.

Some sugar gliders owners have made the mistake of mixing them with other animals of the same size which, however, happened to be animals that either ate the gliders or were eaten by them. If you own sugar gliders, don't put them in a cage with any other animals, it will be safer for everyone.

Those cut little Australian animals are very tiny and shouldn't be left in a house unattended like a dog or a cat. A sugar glider can get lost in thousands of ways in a house. It's OK, to let your tamed glider come out of the cage and play for a while, but you should always be present during these recreational moments and limit its space to one room with close doors to avoid any kind of unfortunate accident.

If you own other bigger pets such as a dog or a cat, make sure that they do not pay much attention to the glider in the cage if you are thinking of letting the glider out of the cage in the same room. Some owners have successful paired up their glider with their dog or cat, but just like people every dog and every cat has its own personality, so this will be on a case to case basis and up to you to be the best judge.

Sugar Glider Diet - A Plan to Keep Your Pet Healthy

Sugar gliders are animals that are omnivorous, which are fond to eat different types of food such as meat. Here are some foods that are included on sugar glider diet.

* Apples
* Sweet potatoes
* Sunflower seeds
* Raisins, plums, pineapple and papayas
* Oranges, peanut butter, pears and honey drew
* Corn, cherries, dried fruits and eggs
* Honey, grapes and apricot
* Applesauce on the baby's food formula

However, cauliflower, cabbage and broccoli are not good to the sugar glider. So, these foods should be excluded on the list for the sugar glider diet. These foods have the properties of gas producing that is not good on the body of the animal. Chopping-up the different type of foods and putting them on different types of container might help its diet. This way, owners can provide variety of food to their pet during feeding.

Sorts of insects could also be included on their diet. On their natural habitat, sugar glider eat varieties of fruits and also insects, dont deny the chance to feed them with insects while they are been domesticated. Feeding them with insects is like to be done often not every day.

Sugar glider can easily increase their weight because they cannot move more freely when they are been confined. Lack of movement of female sugar glider can cause impairment of vision or even blindness to their newborn young's because of the fatty deposits on their eyes.

Controlling the sugar glider diet and regularly measuring its weight can help to correct these irregularities. One cause of this condition is the too much eating of nuts which is rich in fat and protein. To prevent this condition, it is advisable to minimize its protein and fat intake and maximized its exercise. Reducing its weight can be hard but it's worth it.

Having a sugar glider diet plan is really important, because, they accept foods in a certain few days and refuse the same food after a week. Sugar glider can be hard to feed; owners can be frustrated on them. Also, diet plan can really help a lot in feeding them so that they may become healthy and full of energy.

Sugar gliders have different personalities and tastes on their foods. Finding the right food for them can be difficult and needs time. Searching for the right food is time consuming, but if the owner finally found the right food that fit their appetite, they can be easily to feed. Foods that are found on the local market such as frozen mixed fruits and vegetables can help on their diet; this is one thing that an owner should remember so that they can easily feed the animal. On the other hand, Fresh water should be also put on its diet plan, and should be consumed everyday. Also, always remember that the best water for the animal is fresh water, tap water cannot be the best because it has chemical content that makes the water clean.

Also, having the sugar glider diet plan generally depends on your pets. If the pet is still hungry when morning time comes, feed it with just a small amount and a little more on the evening. Owners could also try to mix its foods so that they could enjoy it often.

Tricks and Finds For Beach-Inspired Kids Rooms

Decorative Styles and Tips on Building a Beach-themed Room

Children's rooms are always fun to decorate for they are filled with bright and colorful items and furniture. But the start up of deciding what theme to make of your kid's room can be challenging. One suggestion is to choose a theme that can last for up until their preteens such as a beach set-up room.

Setting up a beach theme requires hard work for different finds that can resemble a beach can be found in any store, yet the right items for your own set-up may need more specific items. With a beach-inspired theme, you would want the interior to represent relaxation, comfort, and brightness.

1. Flooring: Setting up a room with dark blue flooring could look a little gloomy, but for the theme, would be a perfect idea as the color resembles the deep sea. Also, this color can make decorating easier as you will be playing with different sets of shades.

2. Window fixtures: Planning on what can cover the window area is another factor that is important in the whole room set-up. For curtains, a pale blue and very thin chiffon-style drape to cover the window can seem relaxing. Also, the almost clear-like material can still let some light shine through the room which is applicable for a beach setting.

3. Wall: Lining up small canvas prints on different beach scenes like flippers and goggles, sailboat, or scuba diving mask are just some of the few designs you can use to brighten up the theme. Try choosing uncommon finds at the beach to make the wall area more interesting. Another idea would be having a large print covering almost the entire wall. With canvas printing options nowadays, stretching a photograph in large format is possible. Perhaps a submarine or a cartoon-like cruise ship can suit a much larger wall design.

4. Furniture: Less is better since beaches consist mostly of sand. Chairs and tables would fit better if made from rattan material giving the room scene a more tropical feel. Since the color of rattan is a little bit brownish and monotonous, be sure you highlight other areas with brighter items to balance the brightness. Beanbags and baby hammocks can also be of use as an add on to add extra appeal, plus having floor and hanging furniture makes the room a much more fun place to hang out in.

5. Lighting: Lights made out of shells or plastic ceiling lights customized into shapes like fish, starfish, squid, or sea horse would look good for the upper part. To make the lighting brighten up the room, multi-colored lights can make the room have a childlike appeal also. Just make sure that you get to install regular white lights for they will be needed also at times.

6. Decorations: Real items like aquarium tanks, scuba gas tanks, fishing poles, or flippers can be a unique way of decorating as compared to your usual fish and starfish decors. Books about the sea can also serve as decorations and good reference materials for your kids.

There are tons of other things you can work on with your beach-inspired room. Just remember that the more odd or unique an item is, the more a room will be noticed for the theme.
